What we are doing to keep safe during the corona virus epidemic

COVID-19 update March 19 2020

In light of the unprecedented challenges our healthcare system faces with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to postpone non-urgent cases, in line with recommendations by the CDC and Department of Health. Our facility is clean and safe, but resources and supplies for health care facilities are in high demand. Hospitals and clinics treating sick patients take priority.

We continue to schedule consultations but will do them by phone. We will ask you to email photos ahead of time.

We ask for your understanding and patience, particularly from those of you who have scheduled procedures. We promise to get things up and running as soon as it is reasonable to do so responsibly. We value and need your support during this challenging time. Please keep in touch and stay well.

At Baxter Plastic Surgery we have been monitoring the situation regarding the corona virus (COVID-19) epidemic closely. We realize that our patients may have concerns about coming in for appointments and proceeding with surgery. We want you to know what we are doing to keep our patients, the community, and our employees safe:

1. As always, we strictly follow all recommended practices to keep our facility as clean as possible. We are accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF), which holds us to the highest standards, and are licensed by the State of Washington, whose standards are also rigorous.

2. Anyone with fever or symptoms of viral illness, or with a member of their household who is symptomatic, is advised to stay home. This applies to both our staff and patients, and of course anyone who is under quarantine.

3. Because we are a plastic surgery facility that treats patients in good health, and are not located in a general medical clinic building, we believe that risk of exposure is extremely low. All areas are uncrowded and allow for social distancing.

4. For now, we are keeping a schedule as normal as possible. If anyone feels that they need to postpone their appointments or surgery we will do our best to accommodate them.

5. We are monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Washington State Department of Health (DOH) on a daily basis and will change our policies and practices as recommended or required.

Your health and safety remain our highest priority. We will get through this situation if we remain vigilant and continue act according to the best information available. This is not a time for “business as usual” but sensible and responsible behavior does not mean postponing every aspect of our lives.
